    Superfood Smoothie with Basil Seeds & Berries

    A revitalizing, cooling smoothie with soaked basil seeds, fresh berries and creamy plant milk. Ideal for warm days, brings lightness and energy – and provides the body with fiber, antioxidants and fluids.

    Ingredients (for 2 glasses)

    Smoothie Base:

    2 tbsp Basil seeds (Tulsi seeds / Sabja)
    250 ml Water (for soaking)
    150 g Blueberries or mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
    1 Banana
    1 tsp Lemon juice
    1 tsp Agave nectar or date sweetness
    250 ml Almond milk (or oat, rice milk)

    Optional for Extra Freshness:

    4–5 Mint leaves
    1 pinch Ground cardamom

    Preparation (approx. 15 minutes including soaking time)

    Prepare basil seeds: Stir the seeds with 250 ml water and let swell for 10–15 minutes until they become gelatinous.
    Blend smoothie: Place berries, banana, lemon juice, sweetener and plant milk in a blender and puree until creamy.
    Combine: Gently fold the soaked basil seeds into the smoothie – do not blend.
    Serve: Pour into glasses, garnish with fresh mint or berries. Enjoy chilled!

    Ayurveda Tips:

    Best time of day: Optimal in the morning or as a light breakfast on hot days.

    Constitution: Particularly soothing for Pitta – cooling, calming and moisturizing. For Vata, best enjoyed with warm plant milk.

    Tip: For a more grounding effect, you can blend in a spoonful of almond butter or oat flakes.
