What is Urea?
Urea (urea) is the end product of amino acid metabolism and therefore occurs in animal and plant tissues. Urea is used in medicine and cosmetics due to its properties as a side-effect-free humectant that improves water-binding capacity and thus causes stronger skin hydration. This is also important in the treatment of ichthyosis, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, where urea is used at 5-10%.
