Bioturm - Silver Deo Intensive No. 37

The special anti-perspirant effect of Bioturm Silver Deo Intensive is caused by the addition of alum.

Alum contains aluminum, but it is bound differently than in conventional deodorants: In conventional deodorants, artificially manufactured, chlorinated aluminum salts (aluminum chlorohydrate) are used, while Bioturm uses ammonium alum from cultured crystals without chlorination. In contrast to chlorinated aluminum salts, this is considered harmless and is explicitly permitted by BDIH for natural cosmetics.

Effects

The deodorant features a subtle scent for a fresh skin feel. Pure, colloidal silver naturally acts against odor-causing bacteria. A mixture of effective minerals, including alum, effectively reduces perspiration: When moistened with water and applied, the alum forms an acid-protective mantle on the skin. Bacterial growth is prevented, so no body odor develops. It acts astringent, styptic and disinfecting and is therefore (theoretically) usable after shaving on the face, underarms, bikini area or legs.
