Mandukaparni - Centella asiatica - is a perennial plant of delicate, herbaceous growth with a stem that grows creeping on the ground and bears both leaves and roots at the nodes, with small red to white flowers and oval to spherical fruits. The leaves are used in Ayurvedic nutrition. The finely and gently (below 40°C) ground powder from the aerial parts of the plant comes from our Indian and Sri Lankan fair trade and organic projects.

According to Ayurveda, this product correlates with the harmonious balance of the doshas¹ by balancing the six flavours. It provides a bitter flavour.

Recommended dosage

Take one level measuring spoon daily (divided into 2 portions) between meals. Pour boiling water over it, leave to infuse briefly and drink warm. The daily intake of 2.40g herbal powder contains 68.64mg polyphenols².

²Polyphenols are bioactive, secondary plant substances that shape the dosha character of plants in the form of colourings, flavourings and tannins.

The legislator has not yet defined a NRV value (reference quantity for daily intake) for secondary plant substances. The amount stated here corresponds to traditional Ayurvedic recommendations.

The stated recommended daily intake must not be exceeded. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store out of the reach of small children.
