Shatavari, also known as wild asparagus or Asparagus racemosus, is a twining perennial plant up to seven meters tall. Red berries develop from their white, fragrant flowers. Wild asparagus has distinctive rhizomes and leaves that thicken like spines at the bottom. In Ayurvedic nutrition, the root and the fresh juice are used, from which a powder or churna is obtained at temperatures below 40°C. In this way, the valuable ingredients are preserved. The powder is filled into vegan cellulose capsules for easier consumption.

The Cosmoveda Shatavai comes from Indian and Sri Lankan fair trade and organic projects.

Consumption recommendation

Take 6 capsules 2 times a day between meals with warm water. The daily consumption of 3.36g herbal powder contains 9.07mg polyphenols. These are bioactive, phytochemicals that shape the dosha character of the plants in the form of colourings, flavorings and tannins.

The legislator has not yet set an NRV value (reference amount for daily intake) for secondary plant substances. The amount given here corresponds to traditional Ayurvedic recommendations.
