The old Ayurveda texts say that the Ashoka tree has particularly positive properties for women. The bark of the Ahsoka tree is used in various Ayurvedic recipes. Parts of the Ashoka bark are combined with many other famous herbs and fermented according to the oldest traditional Ayurveda techniques to produce the legendary women's tonic Ashokarishta.

The Ashoka tree is medium sized with beautiful dark green foliage and bright orange flowers. In Indian literature he is credited with offering protection to "Sita", the wife of the mythical hero "Rama", from her pursuers in the most difficult times. Adults take 15-30 ml twice a day with the same amount of water (see measuring cup) after meals.
