Our Golden Kashmiri Dal is a noble blend of four lentil varieties: Chana Dal, Masoor Dal, Toor Dal, and Mung Dal. Harmoniously rounded out with a classic Kashmiri spice composition of cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, chili, and turmeric – for warming enjoyment with Ayurvedic depth. Perfect for cold days, Vata times, or as a complete vegetarian meal.
Preparation
Per serving, bring 1/2 cup (60 g) dal to a boil with 2 cups (120 ml) water. Simmer covered over low heat for approximately 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Refine with yogurt and ghee as needed, season with salt to taste.
Tip: For delicious dal, simply add finely chopped vegetables of your choice and simmer together for approximately 10 minutes.
