Kitchari is a traditional Ayurvedic dish, prized for its balancing and easily digestible properties. Our Bio Kitchari Basic combines premium basmati rice with protein-rich mung dal and a carefully balanced spice blend of turmeric, cumin, ginger, and coriander. Perfect for gentle cleansing days or as a nourishing everyday meal – quick to prepare and deliciously aromatic!
Preparation
For each serving, bring 1/2 cup (60g) of kitchari to a boil with 1 cup (120ml) of water. Simmer covered over low heat for approximately 15 minutes. Stir regularly. As needed, toward the end of cooking time, stir in asafoetida and ghee and season with salt to taste.
Tip: For a delicious dal, simply add finely chopped vegetables of your choice and simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
