Willowherb is a gentle herb traditionally used for teas and natural remedies.

Small-flowered willowherb contains beta-sitosterol, various flavonoids, and tannins.
Application
For a cup of willowherb tea, pour about one heaping teaspoon of herb with hot water and let it steep for five minutes.
Since the tea is herbal but flavorful, in some regions it is also used as a black tea substitute. If you discover some in your garden: The fresh leaves of willowherb are edible and taste wonderful in a colorful salad.
If you drink willowherb tea daily, take a break after about six weeks. During the following six weeks, you can instead drink tea from a similarly acting herb. This practice, which should be applied to all potent medicinal herbs, helps prevent a habituation effect. Additionally, the break prevents unwanted long-term effects.
Should allergic reactions or discomfort occur, discontinue the tea immediately and consult with your attending physician or naturopath if necessary.
