Consumption Recommendation

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults drink 2 to 3 teaspoons (10 to 15 g) of passage salt dissolved in approximately 250 ml of water. For rapid bowel evacuation, 1 to 2 tablespoons (20 to 30 g) of passage salt dissolved in approximately 500 ml of water is consumed.

Children over 6 years receive half the dose. Not recommended for younger children.

Warning: Passage salt should only be used short-term. Prolonged use leads to increased intestinal sluggishness. Overdose of passage salt can result in water depletion with electrolyte imbalances and magnesium poisoning. Therapy should be adjusted according to symptoms.

Salus Passage Salt must not be used in case of bowel obstruction and impaired kidney function. It should not be used in inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases or disturbances of water and electrolyte balance.
